Skoda Octavia 2017: The Best of Old And New

The build process of the 1st gen Skoda Octavia started in 1992 – less than 12 months after this Czech company joined Volkswagen Group. The previous vehicle from the first style/model raced off the lines in November 2010. The New Skoda Octavia recently saw a digital unveiling. The Skoda Octavia features minor changes in the interior and the exterior. The front end of the car features new headlights, slightly revised grille and redesigned fog lamps.

The new Skoda Octavia Facelift features a cluster of changes in the interiors of the car. The car comes with an updated multi – colour info display and a 9.2 inches capacitive touch screen display. The new Skoda Octavia largely retains the look of the existing model.

Reducing the size of the engine has become a popular practice for Skoda vehicles. Skoda is the first car in the Volkswagen series to use the new 1.0-litre TSI unit in cars built on the MQB platform.

The steering is light when compared to the previous model. The standard Octavia is available with three engine options: 110 kW (150 PS) 1.4 TSI petrol, 132 kW (180 PS) 1.8 TSI petrol and 105 kW (143 PS) 2.0 TDI diesel, and three transmission choices: 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG automatic and the 7-speed DSG automatic.
